With the 2008 Olympics around the corner, more than a million rural Chinese are flooding into Beijing in hopes of finding construction work. Xia Hongguang, from Henan Province, leaves his family and farm behind to work as a laborer at the Beijing “Nest”. Working on the Olympics Stadium brings prestige and honor, yet Xia dreams about the day he can build the house he has promised for his family.

The dangerous conditions Xia faces daily and his meager salary barely make his sacrifice worth it.
